Thanksgiving photo scavenger hunt
Choose any four of eight. No points. No race.
5 minutes to explain · 15 to try your choices · 5 for optional sharing.
Stay seated. Share a phone or use none. Photos, spoken answers, and drawings are equally welcome. Swap, skip, or stop without explaining.
Before starting: Bring pencils, paper, safe objects, and approved photo copies within reach. No kitchen trips, hot dishes, climbing, or originals near food. Ask before handling belongings.
1. One recipe, one edit
Make an “Earlier / Now” card for one dish change. Photograph it if wanted.
No photo: Say or draw the change, or label a future change “idea.”
2. Borrow a detail from an old picture
Use a photo copy to recreate a safe detail within reach, such as a napkin fold.
No photo: Describe or sketch it. No picture? Draw a scene marked “imagined.”
3. Give a future reader a caption
Caption a permitted picture or today’s detail: what, where, and known or approximate date.
No photo: Tell or dictate the caption. “Not sure” is welcome. Never write on originals.
4. Two names, one thing
Put two names for an ordinary object or habit in paper speech bubbles. Neither is wrong.
No photo: Say the names or draw the object. Invent playful names if needed.
5. What the picture leaves out
Add a detail a permitted picture or today’s table cannot explain. Photograph a note if wanted.
No photo: Describe or draw it. No personal disclosure or happy memory required.
6. How this detail got here
Choose a safe object within reach. Tell how it joined the gathering; new objects count.
No photo: Tell or draw its journey. Unknown history? Describe where it is today.
7. Leave next year a question
Make a low-pressure question card, such as “Will our paper turkey still have its green tail?”
No photo: Say or draw it. Avoid personal milestones or who will be present.
8. Test a tiny new tradition
Suggest a small seated activity, such as naming a paper mascot. Trying it and taking photos are optional.
No photo: Describe, draw, or choose an idea. “Not this year” is welcome.

Your four choices, in your own way
Choose any four from page 1. Writing, drawing, saving, and sharing are optional. A spoken response needs no written or photo proof.
Host: read this aloud
“Choose any four. Stay seated, share a phone, draw, or answer aloud. All those options are equally welcome. You can skip or stop without explaining. Ask before photographing or recording anyone, and again before uploading or sharing. We’re not racing, and there are no points.”
Timing: 5 minutes to explain, 15 to try choices, 5 for optional sharing. Prepare before the clock starts. Invite one response per willing pair or table; listen or pass freely.
