Do employees need to download an app?
No app or guest account is required. Employees scan your QR code or tap a link to upload in their browser. Host-enabled consent requires acceptance and email verification. Required guest-data fields must also be completed before uploading.
Will this work on our company managed phones and laptops?
Gather Shot runs in the browser, but your IT policies may restrict websites or file uploads. Test the QR code, direct link, and a sample upload on a managed device using the event network or VPN. Ask IT to resolve restrictions before the event.
Can I review uploads before they appear in the gallery?
Yes. Uploads are auto-approved by default, so enable approval before employees contribute if you want a review step. Use the dashboard to approve, hide, or delete uploads. Guests can still see their own pending uploads. Only approved uploads appear in an enabled public gallery.
How long do you store our event photos?
1 year of storage is included with all plans. You can extend retention by purchasing additional years. Download everything as a ZIP file at any time.
Can we use this for a multi day conference with multiple sessions?
Yes, multi-day events are supported. Use custom tags to organize uploads by session. The Pro plan supports up to 5,000 uploads and lets you invite up to 9 co-hosts to help moderate.
What if we want to gamify the event with a photo challenge?
Hunts are included in Pro and the free trial, or available as a Basic add-on. We recommend 10 to 15 prompts for a short activity. Gather Shot tracks individual completion and groups responses by prompt. You organize teams, score entries, and choose winners manually.
How would we use this for a year-end holiday party?
For a December team dinner, use company colors and a welcome message explaining who will see the photos. Put QR codes on tables and invite a co-host to moderate. Offer optional prompts such as a table detail, a thank-you card, or an opt-in team portrait. Keep screens and badges out of frame. After the party, download a tagged recap bundle and review permissions for each intended use.
Can we show approved photos during awards or a team celebration?
Yes. Enable Public Gallery and open the slideshow URL on an internet-connected browser display. Require approval and assign a reviewer before guests upload. New approved photos are picked up about every 15 seconds, not instantly. Tell employees about the screen in advance, and keep photos out of the public gallery if that audience is not appropriate.
Does upload consent cover everyone pictured and every later use?
Do not assume it does. Gather Shot can record an uploader accepting your custom terms with a verified email, timestamp, and consent version. That record does not establish permission from everyone pictured. Your organization must decide what permissions it needs for event display, internal recaps, and external marketing.

How do we get the photos after the event ends?
